for those who still visit this place, kidsREAD lives again! :)

term 2 will mark a new beginning for the 3rd batch of kidsREAD. yup! for J2s, relax. your commitment will only be until 21st april and its not confirmed, but it may only be alternate weeks. that is, we work on a rotational basis. mr.lynn will no longer be in charge, two new teachers are taking over, one of whom is ms.josephine leong.

so.. who wants to join? tell me! i look forward to working with all of you again :)

...As part of the Asian Children's Festival 2005, kidsREAD will besponsoring 20 tickets, at the cost of $21 each for kidsREAD volunteercoordinators and volunteers (NLB volunteers are included too) to attend theStorytellers Showcase 2005...Be inspired as you hear professional storytellers enchant you with tale after tale... The storytellers come from Asia, Europe, USA, NewZealand and Australia.

shuuuu has requested for a kidsREAD outing! next friday people can? coz sweet shuwen is going dunno where soon. holiday lah, that LUCKY GIRL. so next friday has been suggested. i dont think i can make it, i have OP trial in school :/ but everyone might as well do BONDING!! whoo!! make friends! lol. so yup yup. any suggestions or anything sms shuwen or me. yeah! X) hey we have geog lecture too. so outing will officially start from 3pm to about 9pm, (thats when shuwen go watches zorro LOL.) so join us as and when you like! yup yup.

i truly wish to *salute* the people of group C, especially pamela leong. Despite mark being on holiday n sylvia being in malaysia and it being the SCHOOL HOLIDAY, i still recieved an email from pamela telling me about this friday's plan :)

there's an obvious lack of manpower for group C, they have 3 people this week and are in charge of this friday's programne. Since we have to make it super nice, if you can, please please come early? i told ur group leaders. Bring whatever stuff you feel can contribute towards our theme of the sea :)

hey... sorry i wasn't there.. i was actually! from 3 to 4 plus? helping the people do some props n stuff n i wrote e stuff on e board :) yes on 9th sept the library ppl plus 3 teachers n their students are coming to observe us! thanks to all of u, esp the guys who managed to come huh. LOL. so yups i cya ppl next week k?

alright, for those of you who werent here today next week the national library board is bring some people over to observe us, which basically means like, checking up on our kidsRead branch and everything. so we have to make it really really good alright?

the plan currently is as follows, that we'll all meet at the library at 4pm next friday, except those who really really cannot make it. then we'll be decorating the library according to a under the sea theme, with sea creatures and things everywhere. please try and bring coloured paper and stuff to "donate" so we dont have to spend so much money and all. and most importantly please try to come, dont have to mindset that others will come so you dont have to come because if everyone thought like that then we'd have no one there at all.

and the attire is the blue red or yellow collegiate(is that how it's spelt?) shirts. please try and come in them and not anything else for relative uniformity. yupp. oh and groups C and D are supposed to prepare worksheets, but we will have both groups combining for mass activity.

please come, inform tingen if you are unable to be there. and take care of yourselves, there's a nasty flu bug going around (:

wheee! i looove kidsread!

Somehow or other, it seems the perfect end to a week, especially when the kids are actually behaving for once (esp wilson :P).

i think the kids are getting used to us, but i still can't remember faces...heh. keep on getting thomas mixed up with jia le. i think eric 'caught' some of wilson's bad behavior tho, cos im sure he wasn't that...bad when i first got here.

anyway, next week we have to do one heckuva hullabaloo of a presentation, and it happens to be my group on the roster. realy wish i could be there, guys, but my mother booked this trip waaaay in advance (june i think). you know how moms are.

u weren't there so i can't write you a letter. if you see this treat this as one, k? I won't be in singapore from sunday 4th sept till sunday 11th sept. sucks huh? be in aussieland then.

YES there is kidsREAD next week after teacher's day celebration.. shall we all go out together? :) please wear either ACJC uniform OR an AC based T shirt.. no short skirts, no revealing tops no short shorts... you people know what i mean :)

YES there is kidsREAD in the september holidays. please come!! the same dress code applies. [aye i dont mean that guys have to wear dresses LOL]

as before, please report latest by 630. if any group preparing needs help, tell us n im sure some nice considerate beings among us will be pleased to help you out. TEAM WORK! YEAH!!

Mass reading:
The tale of Peter Rabbit and Benjamin Bunny - read by Jonathan
accompanied by paper-stick props

Mass activities:
Go through ACTION words with the Kids and make them act them out! - everyone

the list includes:
running
climbing
waving
skipping
hopping
dancing
laughing
(but aren't really comfirmed yet)

and..

singing! - revise songs from pervious sessions

Individual group activities
Involve a worksheet with lots of rabbits performing different actions.
Find the bunny and colour them out!
then fill in the action word at the bottom of the page..

hey im the first to blog! i guess its coz im the one who set this up, LOL. of course credit goes to the very sweet shuwen as well, *applause*!

THIS blog is meant for kidsREAD people, ALL of us! i hope to add in the past kidsREAD people too actually, as im sure that each and everyone of them DOES have extremely valuable experiences to share with the rest of us, yes? :) so i'll create a mass account for all kidsREAD people, feel free to blog here about your reflections on the past sessions as and when you like. in the name of EQUALITY and my favourite philosophy that "sharing is caring", i shall make it COMPULSORY that each and every one of you has to blog at least ONCE. please. even if its just one or two sentences telling us how horrible/wondeful the kids are, or just a simple encouragement to the rest of us! X)

i'd just like to thank all my great kidsREAD people there for all your effort you've put into kidsREAD, for listening to my boring debriefs, for paying attention and most importantly, CARING and being courageous about taking care of those kids. you people rock! YAY!! even though we CAN make room for improvement [more props please! skits! :)] i say you people are not bad. keep it up!
